Emotionless Eyes
Chained to a gruesome sight.
A little crow, dead
In the sewer grate.
Open beak on a head turned backwards,
An odd position.
Dirty, once ink colored feathers,
Only just hiding the squished body.
Eyes staring at each other,
One set blank,
One set captured at the sight of a body
Without its soul.
Agreed. Gross.

I wrote something like this awhile ago. I guess it haunts me since I remember it almost verbatim. It's dark.
